Our sincere condolences to the Hamm family from Yvonne and Greg Skura.
Mrs. Hamm recruited me in the early 1980s to teach Catechism to St. Augustine Parish children who were attending other schools in the city. She trained me in her special way to teach Grade 1, 2 and 3 Catechism not only to my children, but those who lived close by……They would come once weekly, after school, to our home. I always appreciated her support and help with activities for the children.
When we met in later years, I would always call her “ Mrs. Hamm “, and she always insisted that I call her “ Barbara “ !
It took me quite a while to make that change to her first name, and it became a source of delight that drew us closer over the years.
We exchanged greetings every Christmas and always at Easter time !
Rest in Peace, dear Barbara…….you will be missed by many .

Glen & Alan,
My condolences on the death of your mother Barb. I knew her well from my time as pastor at St. Augustine's and even before when I was chair of the liturgy committee. When our mother dies then we truly feel like orphans. May the Lord be near you both as you say farewell to your mother. Don't forget to pray for her soul.
