Her smile and witty chat at the Safeway’s till is all I knew about this wonderful lady! She confided me her only complaint was walking on a cement floor, it was too hard on the human body, she said, something that I have passed on to my students. May God give her eternal rest.

My deepest condolences to the family. I knew Ruth for many years. I met her when she worked at Safeway on Victoria. I taught skating at the Park Community Center and she was always there to watch her daughter skate. She was always good for a great giggle. I am sure she will be missed by many.

I was so sad to hear of Ruth’s passing. She was a dear friend for many years and a very caring person. She had a smile that could light up a room and make everything better and a laugh that made the world a wonderful place. I am so thankful to have had her in my life. So sorry to hear of Ruth’s passing. I worked at the shoppers mall in Brandon at the same time she was at Safeway. She also used to work with my aunt Sandra Davies and knew my grandmother Maxine Davies as well. She was always fun to joke around with and we always had nice visits. Hugs to you all!!

Ruth had a heart big enough for two.You always knew where you stood with her. She was a union shop steward for many years at Safeway. She knew the contract inside and out and advocated for everyone even after retirement because it was in her blood. I was so very lucky to have maintained our friendship since 2003. I will miss you Ruth. In solidarity and friendship.
