One of many fun and exciting memories I have of my brother Norm was, his skill in math. During his high school years he was asked to be part of a local TV show where students would participate competing against each other for their school. These students were asked high level questions, mostly in math. It was called,” Reach for The Top.” I remember watching it with my parents. I thought it was pretty special to see my older brother on TV. So very proud of him. Love you and miss you very much ❤️

I’m sorry I was unable to attend Norms funeral. Norm and I attended high school together and in later life he played bridge with my husband Glenn. Further down the road we both worked at the Agriculture Centre. Norm was a kind man and was very thoughtful to me after the loss of Glenn. He always spoke so proudly of “his girls” and then his grandchildren. My deepest sympathy to the family. I know he will be missed.

I was honoured to be able to attend Norm's funeral and appreciated the words spoken about him by his family and friends. I heard about aspects of Norm's interests and background I did not know. No mention was made of Norm's skill in and passion for duplicate bridge which is how I came to know him over fifty years ago. My first memory is of him being mentored by a particularly unpleasant older player, but it was not long before Norm advanced in the game well beyond that man, and virtually all others in the local club. He became a "Life Master" many times over, and his reputation broadened to where he was recruited to play with very strong players in North Dakota. I enjoyed playing with or against him, and watching him play at tournaments against very stiff competition. He was a very bright, capable man, and always courteous and friendly in his interactions. Beyond bridge, he would always delight in bringing me up to date on the accomplishments of his family, all of whom he cherished.

I’ll always remember the special friendship Norm and I had working together for the Province, and his love of bridge. And of course, I’ll never forget how he made sure I brought potato salad whenever I was heading to Brandon. We had a lot of laughs, and I’ll always smile thinking about those times.
