Obituary of Shirley Anne Anderson

ANDERSON: Shirley Anne Anderson left us on June 13, 2010 at the age of 67. Shirley was born in Killarney, Manitoba on April 9, 1943 the youngest of four children born to Clark and Della Anderson. Shirley attended school in Brandon, MB and graduated from Composite High School before starting employment with the Manitoba Telephone System in 1962 to 1966, then Canada Trust 1966-1971, both in Winnipeg, until finishing employment with Service Canada (EI), retiring in 1998. Shirley was a member of the Brandon Club while it was operating, and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #3. Shirley was predeceased by her father, Clark Anderson (1975), her mother Della (1984), brother Lyle Anderson (1967), nephew James Anderson, nephew Ronald Anderson (1998) and brother Donald Anderson (2009). Shirley leaves to mourn her passing, her brothers Rod Diment (Mavis), Gene Diment and sister Evelyn Collings (John), sister-in-law Deanna Anderson, nieces and nephews, Sean Anderson (Deb), Gordon Collings (Isabel, David, Laura), Dan Collings (Cameron), Tracy Diment, Kayla Diment, Terry Anderson, Sheila Anderson, Loretta Anderson (Michael, Montana, Devon), Cheryl and Tim Diment. She also leaves her very good friends, Ruth Black, Darlene Jaworksi, Phyllis England, Rick Sczepanski, Albie Stanley, Donna (Bert) Thrower, Carol (Herb Briggs), Yolande (Jacques) Parent and Marion Moar. A special thank you to the nurses and staff 3rd Floor, Assiniboine Palliative Care Centre, Brandon, MB, and to her very dear friends better known as "the 6 pack," for their love and care before and during Shirley's stay in hospital. Funeral Services were held on June 17, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at the Brockie Donovan Funeral Chapel with interment at Rosewood Memorial Gardens. The Reverend Shannon McCarthy of Central United Church officiated at the ceremony. Donations in memory of Shirley may be made to the Terry Fox Foundation, 543 St. Mary's Road, Winnipeg, MB, R2M 3L4.
